Theatrical Director and currently the Managing Director of The Hieronim Konieczka Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz. He graduated from the Department of Acting Arts (1989) and the Department of Theatre Direction (1993) at The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. His directing debut was with the play Woyzeck by George Büchner at The Theatre of Dramatic Arts in Bydgoszcz (1992).
In 1998, he founded and then became head of the Society of Dramatic Arts, created to promote contemporary dramaturgy and the idea of socially-engaged theatre. Between 2000 and 2003, he was the Managing and Art Director of the Polish Theatre in Poznan. In 2010, he was the Program Director of the 5th International Festival Polish Contemporary Arts R@PORT in Gdynia. He is currently associated with The Hieronim Konieczka Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz, where he directed Stanisław Wyspiański’s play Odysseus’ Return (2007) and Krasiński. Non-Divine Comedy. Mis-en-scene (2008), Słowacki. 5 Drama. Re-creation (2010), Mickiewicz. Dziady (Forefathers’ Eve) (2011) and Wedding of Witold Gombrowicz (2012). He is also the author of almost 40 texts on scenography, and writes academic essays and opinion columns.
